It's only the second week of February and already I'm going a little stir crazy.  There are fish out there begging to be caught and I am eager to oblige.  If all the groundhogs; Wiarton Willie, Punxsutawney Phil, Staten Island Chuck et. al. are correct then we are in for an early spring.  With the amount of snow we have we should get some good run-off resulting in some good runs of rainbow trout.

Therefore, now is the time to start to prepare, and what better preparation than taking in the Toronto Spring Fishing Show.  For all the details go to www.springfishingshow.ca .  If you live close enough to make it worth while then Sunday (after church) is the time to go to get good deals on fishing tackle.   Many venders reduce prices in an effort to unload a lot of their inventory.  It saves them packing it up.

For those who cannot make it to Toronto, if you are in the London area then the London Boat Fishing and Leisure Show is on from February 23 to 25 at the Western Fair grounds.  Check out www.boatcottagefishingshow.com.  If you come on Friday and or Saturday afternoon I will be there talking about flyfishing.  Look for the Angling Sport (London) Inc. display in the fishing equipment area.  The owner is Kasim Glavas, a very helpful and friendly man.  Mention this website and we could arrange a fishing trip together in the London area this summer.

Take a kid or the whole family and make a day of it.   Hope you find some good deals.

Good luck and keep the tip up!
