Here is an update on the mentoring program I'm overseeing at the Hamilton Street Railway . . . .

The latest news is we've recruited 41 bus operators to become HSR Mentors. That alone is an amazing phenomena. I've had the pleasure of hosting two 4 hour mentor training sessions and trained 7 operators in the process, while matching new bus operators with HSR Mentors. My goal is to train and match as many mentors & mentees over the next 12 to 15 months as possible. At the HSR our target is about 50 to 55 mentors will be needed. This will be an on going process for many, many, years to come. At the HSR we hire about 30 to 35 bus operators a year. This could change of course as the City Of Hamilton grows and the need for more bus service increases. As you can see in one year alone the mentor program will have touched the lives of 30 news bus operators ''mentees''and 30 mentors full time bus operators. That's a total of 60 bus operators and this will keep on growing year after year.
