Trying to walk as a Christian in these increasingly treacherous times is not always easy. 2 Timothy-3:1-4 – This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves…without natural affection…traitors, heady, high minded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God.

If you are successfully walking as a Christian, staying away from addictions, doing business morally, being monogamous within your marriage, praying the scriptures, tithing, you will be receiving the abundance and stability of the Lord. You may even be on the path to receiving or completing your Christian mission.

If you, however, stray or step out of God’s will, you open yourself up to traps set by the enemy. In spite of the subtle shift or letting down of your guard, you will probably start out not admitting things have changed in your walk with the Lord. There’s a denial stage that is characteristically present in most cases.

The eventual loss of reputation, along with the stigma and judgment of others is the manifested ripple effect that follows a Believer who adopts a new walk that isn’t of the Lord. The enemy is seeking who he may destroy – and who better to lure away than a Believer not focused on the Lord and the ways of the Lord.

Have you ever heard the saying “The road to hell is paved with good intentions.” You must be constantly vigilant and walk with the Word and in the Spirit every day, grounded, non-judgmental and humble to escape these traps.

Hebrews 12:6-11—“For whom The Lord loves he chastens, and scourges every son whom he receives.” So the Lord allows these things to happen to us sometimes, that we might not be lost. If we are true Christians and truly love Him, He will not allow us to be lost
(Romans 8, 38).

There are many examples in the Bible of those who lost possessions or reputation because of sin in their life – but were later restored by the faithfulness and mercy of God.

Brothers I compel you – the enemy is waiting to devour you, don’t be trapped by what you see in the world – don’t take your focus off the Lord. Don’t fall into the trap!
